Înline Conference “Corporate Social Responsibility: Bridge to your consumers.”

Charity Fund “Consumer Initiatives Centre” in cooperation with Global Compact Network Ukraine and under the support of the joint EU-UNDP project “Consumer Society and Citizen Networks” announces the international on-line conference “Corporate Social Responsibility: Bridge to your consumers”.

The on-line conference will be held between 27th and 30th October, 2009 in the framework of web portal http://consumerinfo.org.ua/en/ with its following distribution on the web resource of Consumer Initiatives Centre and partners.

The aim of the conference - to initiate dialogue between the Ukrainian and European experts, business and non-governmental organizations representatives on the practice of corporate social responsibility implementation, especially those aspects that directly affect the interests of consumers.

Agenda of the conference covers the following issues:

You are kindly invited to take part in the on-line discussion from 27 th October till 30 th October. Please send your report on one of the issues. To take part on the Internet Conference please register in the online forum.

Requirements to reports are as follows:

Correspondence with the idea of the conference: focus on coverage of aspects of corporate social responsibility, directly affecting the interests of consumers: draft standard ISO 26000: guidance on social responsibility, consumer’s health and safety, product labeling, marketing communications, management of consumer complaints.

  1. Relevance of the information: the idea of the articles should be of innovation nature, case studies - examples of "best practice" responsible business dealing in Ukraine and abroad.
  2. Size and format: the report should not exceed 9 thousand characters, including spaces. Text format - MS Word, RTF or DOC
  3. Should not carry advertising nature.
  4. Should not be anti-advertising nature.
  5. Ethics principles: the materials must not violate the ethical and moral standards, or to carry the character of racial and religious discrimination
  6. Copyright notice: right to the publication should be confirmed (if the material already published in the media)

The conference moderator has the right not to place on a portal the materials which are not corresponding to ethical and conceptual criteria.

    Considering that the format of the conference provides the opportunity to communicate in two languages, all questions and answers of the experts will be translated into English as well as Ukrainian. All the participants are to be informed about the possibility of pauses between the placement of questions and the responds. From our turn we will do everything possible to translate all debates and post them on the relevant pages of the forum by the end of the conference.

    Please note that the forum of the conference “Corporate Social Responsibility: bridge to your consumers” includes pre-moderation, therefore any question or comment should receive authorization from Forum moderators before they become available for the public. The forum moderator reserves the right not to post message without any explanation if it violates the rules of the forum.
